
Part-time Tutoring Position
STEP Programme
SINDA Tutorials for Enhanced Performance (STEP), as the flagship programme of SINDA continues to reach out to and engage more students with the endeavour to improve students pass rates in all core subjects especially Maths and Science at all levels through enhanced teaching and learning models.
Since its inception in 1992, STEP has been conducted across centres situated in MOE schools island wide. It is conducted on weekday evenings and weekend mornings/afternoons offering tuition for core subjects of English, Mathematics and Science to students from Primary, Secondary and ‘A’ levels.
Responsibilities

Teach students placed under their care the subject assigned to them by SINDA Education Division

Marking and monitoring of students’ attendance

Come prepared for each class and have familiarised themselves with the content

Strive to improve students’ confidence and stimulate their interest in the subject being taught
-
Identify learning gaps and bridge them, so that students are able to follow the lessons being taught in their respective schools
-
Strive to provide students with a learning environment which fosters the students’ ability and skills to work independently and learn as a group
-
Administer the SINDA Review Papers in accordance with the conditions and timelines as advised by SINDA HQ and/or SINDA Education Division

Strive to infuse ICT into lessons where possible.

Ensure that students’ progress is assessed through the tools provided by SINDA

Attend training sessions conducted by SINDA

Any other duties as assigned by the Centre Principal
Requirements
-
Applicants must be Singapore Citizens or Permanent Resident
-
Minimum 3 years of teaching/tutoring experience (Non-NIE trained)
-
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, including building and sustaining positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders at various levels
-
Experience in student related matters
-
Counselling and training in pastoral care is an added advantage
-
Available for face to face classes on weekday evenings and/or weekend mornings or afternoon
Qualifications & Certification
For NIE-trained Candidates
-
Diploma in Education (NTU-NIE)
-
Specialist Diploma in Teaching and Learning for Allied Educators (NIE)
For Non-NIE Trained Candidates
Qualifications (must be relevant to tutoring subjects)

General Degree (preferred)
-
Coaching/Facilitation, Skills/Guidance, and Support Growth courses
Other Preferred Skills

Counselling

Training in special needs
